[Showdown] Risorgimento

Goten was enthralled with the match, so it took a second for it to register that someone had called out. When he looked to the source of the voice, it was Fan. She told him to come over, and so he did. It was a little awkward because they nearly killed one another a few minutes ago, but he approached her with that same goofy smile.

"I'll skip the formalities. Why didn't you kill me?" she asked.

Goten just sort of stood there for a second, then he blinked. "Well... there's no sense in killing you. You've done nothing to deserve death... and I'm not one for senseless killing. People mumble about honor and pride and stuff... but I love being alive and seeing others alive a whole lot more than that."

Fan laughed loudly. "I've never done anything to deserve death? I'm an assassin by trade you idiot. I've killed innocents by the dozen, all because my employer asks it of me. I haven't flinched as I've sliced the throats of those begging for their life." She paused for a moment.
"But beyond that, there was no reason to let me live, especially once I went berserk. Your life was the one in jeopardy, and the easiest way to end it was one of those fancy blasts of yours. Hell, I'd have killed me in that situation."

Goten didn't waiver. "I'm just not the killing type. And Fan, I believe that it's never too late to turn over a new leaf. I know a guy who used to harvest the lives of entire planets once, and he turned ended up helping us save the world several times. That alone is proof that no one deserves to die. Death keeps a bad soul bad, but life can help that bad soul turn good." He smiled a bit, "At least, that's what I believe."

Fan didn't say anything for a moment. Then she frowned. "Then you're an even bigger idiot than I thought." With that, Fan turned and walked away. She wasn't quite sure where she was walking off to, but she had to be away from the fighting for a while, to think about her fight, with the image of her unconscious rampage fresh in her mind.

"I may not be the smartest man," Goten crossed his arms, "but I'm no murderer." He watched as Fan walked away with a face of mixed emotion. He didn't understand why she was mad that he let her live-- perhaps she just couldn't see things the way he did.

Weapons: Ninja Techniques and Black Daggers.
Abilities: Pain is the only known user of the Rinnegan, which gives him access to the six paths technique, which allows him to control six different bodies from a different location through chakra recievers. Each of the six paths have one ability. The six paths share vision, so what one sees, they all see. There is almost no blind spot.

Human Path: The ability to read minds and suck peoples souls out

Asura Path: This one does not have any abilities, rather its built like an android that is super strong, has multiple arms and hidden weapons such as blades and missles.

Preta Path:The ability to absorb energy. An effective sheild

Naraka Path: Summons the Outer Path

Outer Path: A large statue head that has the ability of interrogation and restoration. By taking someone inside its mouth it can detect any lies they speak or heal them. The outer path can also bring people back from the dead.

Deva Path: Gravity manipulation, able to push and pull objects or people. The more he uses this ability the more he has to wait before he can use it again, the shortest time before uses is 5 seconds. This is also Pain's main body and is the one he usually speaks through.

Animal Path: Abilty to summon.


Personality: Pain is an idealist. He wants to inflict pain on everyone in the entire world, because his philosophy is if everyone knows pain, then the world will be peaceful because they will not go to war because the world will know the pain of it. Also theres a never ending cycle of hared in the ninja world, he aims to make that go away.

Bio: Pain attacked Konoha in order to capture Naruto, the nine tailed fox for Akatsuki. Naruto defeated each of his six bodies and went to find the real pain. He found him and they talked, Pain told Naruto about his philosophy, and the never ending cycle of hatred in the ninja world. Naruto realized that he was right, and to end the never ending cycle of hated was also Jirayas goal, whom taught Naruto and Pain. After they talked, Pain used the last of his chakra to bring everyone back from the dead, whom he had killed during the invasion of Konoha. The mysterious force that sent out the invitations sent one to the underworld and it brought him to life to compete in the tournament.

Abilities: Kido- Shinigami Magic. Kido takes many various forms depending on what spell is said, there are spells for shooting fire, water, lightning, binding your opponent with ropes, etc. Byakuya is an accomplished Kido user and knows many spells.

Zanpakto-

Senbonzakura (???, "Thousand Cherry Blossoms"; a reference to Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura): A regular katana, with a simple cross guard, which is a simple open frame, much like a four-pane window. It has a white-colored hilt and white sheathe.

Shikai: It is triggered by the command "Scatter"

Senbonzakura's Shikai

Shikai Special Ability: In its Shikai, Senbonzakura's blade separates into a thousand slender, tiny blade fragments, which then fly away from the hilt, leaving only the sword's handle in Byakuya's hand. The release can be negated before it completes, such as when Yoruichi Shih?in wrapped the blade in cloth during Byakuya's short battle with Ichigo. However, if the release completes itself, then Senbonzakura is rendered near-unstoppable. While the blades are supposedly too small to be seen normally, they reflect light in such a way as to appear as cherry blossom petals. By swinging Senbonzakura's hilt, Byakuya can control the blade fragments at will, allowing him to shred opponents at a distance and break through almost any defense.[127]


Bankai: Senbonzakura Kageyoshi (?????, Vibrant Display of a Thousand Cherry Blossoms): is essentially a much larger version of Senbonzakura's Shikai. To activate it, Byakuya needs to drop his sword straight down. The sword phases into the ground, as though it were a pool of water. Energy ripples expand out, turning the surrounding area dark, and within seconds, two rows of a thousand giant blades rise up from the ground. Those thousand swords then scatter and countless flying blades pierce the enemy. No one knows the exact number of blades generated and no one can see the movements of those blades or even dodge them.[128] The number of blades is great enough that Byakuya can use them for defense as well as offense at the same time. He commonly forms them into large masses, designed to obliterate opponents instantaneously. As it moves through the air like torrents of waves, it gives the appearance of cherry blossoms flowing swiftly along with the wind.[129] Byakuya's defensive use allows him to cover himself entirely in these tiny blades, and form a body shield.[130] Unlike his Shikai, his Bankai is entirely mentally controlled. While Byakuya can control the blades with his mind alone, using his hands allows him to do so more effectively, making the blades increase in speed three fold.[131] Similar to his Shikai, its attack is triggered with the phrase Scatter.[132]

Bankai Special Ability: Byakuya's Bankai has several forms, achieved by arranging the blades in different patterns. Each form presents a different advantage, such as increasing offense at the expense of defense. This makes Senbonzakura Kageyoshi one of the most versatile Bankai in the series. These techniques are activated by saying the name of the technique, followed by the name of his Bankai, Senbonzakura Kageyoshi.

Senkei

Senkei (??, Slaughterscape; Viz: "annihilate"): The true form of Senbonzakura is created by his blood, which glows and turns into spiritual energy, mixing with the tiny blades of his Bankai. This unites the scattered petals into complete glowing swords, numbering in the thousands, that form four rows. These rows float just above the other, and circle around Byakuya and his opponent in a continuously moving, column-like array. It abandons defense in favor of a concentrated offense. Though visually menacing, this form is not meant for attack from all sides; rather, it is to concentrate his power into fewer blades, thus increasing his attack power. While Byakuya can mentally control these swords as he does his regular blades, he commonly calls them to his hands for actual melee combat. When in his hand, they lose their glow, and take the form of his sealed Zanpakut?. While they seem solid in this state, the swords can just as easily dissipate back into the multitude of tiny blades that they are made up of. It seems to take fewer blows from a Senkei blade to gravely injure an opponent than the multiple cuts needed from the unfocused Bankai. The Senkei also cages himself with his enemy, allowing neither combatant to move very far from each other, though the area is still large enough for maneuverability. The most effective use of the Senkei form is that it allows for use of all the swords at the same attack level, making it highly versatile as a way to effectively defeat an enemy unaware of the danger of the situation. It is extremely rare for him to use this ability, doing so only when he has sworn to cut down the opponent with his very own hands. Ichigo was the second being to ever witness the ability.[133][134]

G?kei

G?kei (??, Mawscape): This form increases the number of tiny blades immensely. It creates a spherical formation of innumerable blade fragments, which swirl around the opponent like a cloud. It then flies into them from every possible angle, leaving no blind spots and no possibility to escape. It then collapses on itself, obliterating the opponent. It was strong enough to completely obliterate a very large building from the inside out, and the resulting shockwave generated by the attack is so powerful that Byakuya himself has to Flash Step away.[135][136]

Sh?kei: Hakuteiken

Sh?kei: Hakuteiken (??: ???, "Endscape: White Emperor Sword"; Viz: "Last Sight: White Emperor Sword"): This condenses each and every single one of his blades into a single, potent sword, drastically increasing its cutting power. The spiritual energy and pressure of this form released is immense. The blade appears bright white and its aura takes the form of a bird, earning it the name Hakuteiken (???, White Imperial Sword; Viz: "White Emperor Sword"). Pure white wings form on Byakuya's back, as well as a halo-like circle, made of concentrated spiritual energy. The blade in this form is dangerous enough to cause aggravated injuries in one single blow.[137] The wings are capable of being used for flight.[138] Whether or not this form allows only one single attack or more is as yet unknown.



Personality:Byakuya Kuchiki is the 28th head of the noble Kuchiki clan, one of the four great noble families in Soul Society. As such, Byakuya acts in an aristocratic manner ? he seems always serene and apathetic towards other people, even when he is actually deeply conflicted. He is also extremely calm, even in battle, and is very seldom surprised by even the most drastic of actions. However, when he was younger, he was quick to anger and very hotheaded, as noted by his grandfather.[5] Due in part to his status in Soul Society, he generally acts indifferent, bordering on arrogance, to most situations that he is faced with as seen from how he rarely views his opponent worth his time. Despite this trait, Byakuya is a very perceptive man and is fully aware of the limits of his abilities and usually anything he states in comparison to an opponent is justified.

Byakuya strongly believes in law and order. As the head of one of the great noble families and as a captain in the Gotei 13, he always works hard for a peaceful society. He feels that if someone in his position does not follow the rules as a good example, then no one will follow them. He believes that to maintain the order, all law-breakers must be punished, even if that goes against his own wishes. In spite of his icy and regal manner, Byakuya cares for and protects those important to him. After the events of the Aizen incident, he admitted that law isn't perfect and became more lenient, as well as more protective, of his adoptive sister, Rukia.

Byakuya is popular among the female Shinigami of Soul Society, and was voted number one in the "captain we desire to release a photo book for" poll taken by the Shinigami Women's Association. He likes Japanese cherry blossoms, night-time walks, spicy food, and bananas, but he does not like sweets. Similar to S?suke Aizen, he excels in calligraphy.[3] He, apparently, is very fond of calligraphy, being the representative or possibly president of the Calligraphy Society.

As astonishing as it may seem, Byakuya seems to have a comedic side, as he not only attends the lieutenant's meeting when Renji's absent, but also implies that he attends the meetings of the Shinigami Women's Association when Rukia's absent. As he puts it, "part of a captain's responsibilities is to make sure the lieutenant's responsibilities are taken care of," to which Renji asks if he also goes to Rukia's meetings, which is only responded with a secretive smile.[6] He also once jokingly remarks that he uses Senbonzakura to cut his hair.[6] In one of the omake chapters, Byakuya claims that life in general is not supposed to be entertaining, and even makes up an idea for a game that is not really meant to be amusing.

Having descended from noble stock, Byakuya is easily offended if his name is not used properly. As such, he views Ichigo Kurosaki in disdain for always referring to him improperly, although he has never said anything to him to change that. On one occasion, Byakuya calls Ichigo to his mansion in order to have a talk with the young substitute Shinigami, but they were interrupted by Yachiru's appearance, who asks Ichigo to follow her elsewhere. After Ichigo's disappearance, it is revealed that Byakuya wanted Ichigo to refer to him properly, and to stop calling him by only his first name.[6] When Byakuya talks with Ichigo, he calls him by his full name, Ichigo Kurosaki.

Byakuya has shown open disdain for those who have been disgraced or who he finds to be annoying or overconfident. This is shown when he uses unnecessary force against Ganju Shiba, who was little to no threat to him, just because he was a member of the formerly noble Shiba family. He also shows that he bears a grudge toward Yoruichi Shih?in for being better than him at Shunpo as well as annoying him by constantly rubbing his face in it, with this particular grudge spanning 110 years. This goes even as far as him even disliking having to use techniques taught to him by Yoruichi.[7]

In some golden cups, he sees his house had been altered by some tunnels, which are revealed to be Yachiru Kusajishi's handiwork. In one of them, he discovered that Yachiru, Nemu Kurotsuchi, Rangiku Matsumoto, Nanao Ise, Isane and Kiyone Kotetsu, Su�-F?ng, and Yoruichi were having a tea party in his house, without his knowledge (his face is not shown when he sees the room's interior). Later, when he tries to board up the secret door, Yachiru reveals another to Byakuya's intense surprise, and his face is shown with dismay.

Bio:Byakuya is 6th captain og the Gotei 13, he has done many missions and is incredibly loyal to the Gotei 13. He has helped Ichigo many times throughout the series. He recieved an invitation to the tournament and decided to go.

Dru just shook his head at fan. "That Girl is something else. Be she is a seriously trained assassin. One here living is the greatest defeat." He thought back to earlier memories. He used to think like that when playing the game, but it also came back too, I have a second chance to kick butt.

Dru started to go say something to Fan, but thought better of it. He really didn't need a sword to the throat. Instead he went over to Goten.

"Your speed. It's something I've seen before. Though yours is slightly more developed and not necessarily a mind trick."

Goten looked with a smile at Dru. "You mean before? Gah, I was going slow! There's no way anyone could consider that fast, could they?" He seriously thought everyone here was as quick and agile as he was.

((1. ss2: You're in. Your characters seem a little strong, so keep them in check, or I'll have to disqualify them.

((Can I object to Pain? I didn't read much of Shippuden, but I did read most of the big Pain fight, and form what I remember and from what I see here, he's completely overpowered and overall quite annoying.))

"Indeed they could." Magni seemed to come out of nowhere. "My helmet's sensors lost track of both yours and Fan's speed after 400 kilometers per hour. I assume that you both were not only going faster than that, but could go even faster if you wanted. Something like that is unheard of in the imperium. Outspeeding land vehicles is simply impossible, and yet you, Fan, and apparently Hiei as well can do it with ease despite your young age. How do you manage that when even the swiftest Assault Marine cannot?"

A dark portal opened up from the ground, six figures rose up from inside it. They all looked similar in clocks decorated with red clouds and orange hair, they were of different heights, but they all had the same purple eyes. They walked as one to the registration desk and asked to be signed up as one entity, the tournament registrator didint seem to care. The six then went to the stands to watch the current match.

Soon afterwards, two japanese style doors opened up in midair, and out stepped Byakuya Kuchiki. He strolled brisqually towards the registrator and got register'd, he too went into the stands.

((Yeah man, that's cool.))

"Well, that's because I'm all natural. You can't beat using what the gods gave you, right?" Goten grinned up to Magni. "But nothing beats pure will. And I would have never achieved this level of power without a lot of will... and patience." Goten didn't seem selfish at all, but it seemed he was inherently proud of what he had achieved in terms of power.

The six paths of pain just sat in the bleachers, watching. Talking to no one, with their shared vision they were able to see more of the match then anyone else, with each path looking at a different part of the arena.

Byakuya walked into the stands, he pushed out his influence and felt several strong spirtual pressures (Bleach talk for powerlevels.) He nodded to himself that his opponents wouldnt be unworthy. Byakuya heard a mans in orange comment about will. "Excuse me for eavedropping, but I couldnt help overhearing what you said. Will, is meaningless if a person is weak." he said.

"That's the thing. People with will are never truly weak." Goten replied with a sly little smile of his own. He didn't like people who saw others as weak. Goten had become accustomed to not seeing someone for what they are, but for what they could become; their potential.

"I believe you are confusing will with talent or training. One cannot become stronger simply by willing it. Strength is what you are born with, it does not maximize itself when you are born, obviously you need to train it. Those that train to reach their maximum potential are truly strong, those dont don, are weak and unworthy." Byakuya said to Goten.

Magni was taken aback by this. "Surely you can't be serious. The technology granted to us by our ancestors are the greatest power one can hope to attain. I learned early on that the flesh is weak, and to become truly strong, you must join with the mighty machine spirits, and strive to be like they are. That's why so much of my body has been replaced by cybernetics. The Techmarines learn to communicate with the Machine Spirits and learn from them. They are the superior beings, and with these replacements I can become closer to their perfection."

To Magni he said. "That is not true strength. Anyone can improve their bodies using machines and technology, That is the lazy way. It is unbecoming of a true warrior to use short cuts."

Goten smiled. "Perfection? My older brother faced a creature that really was perfect... and he beat him. When he was eleven years old. He had the ability to regenerate, and every time he did so, he got stronger. He had to wipe out every last cell of his existence... so I think I'm able to handle 'perfection'." Goten smiled.

"And, in terms of will... well, you can be as strong as you want. But it's the ones with will that really hurt when provoked."
