So the young Archie is Eli and Peyton's nephew. I hope he makes it all the way to the NFL like his uncle's, that would make a great story.

I see Chase Young is being groomed by Warren Sapp who strangely enough also wore 99 in the NFL. Once Young has a few more moves under his belt he will become a beast. People have already forgotten how good he was in his rookie year.

Arch Manning is definitely on track to be the next great Manning. I don't see Peyton when I watch him play, but he does seem on a better projection than Eli. He is a better athlete than both, so that's a plus.

Good news for you Dennis, Terry McLaurin signed a 3 year extension worth up to 71M. A big contract but not outrageous, less than what AJ Brown just got.

steelersrock01: I am happy with that. McLaurin is underated, the guy has never had a decent top tier quarterback throwing to him, yet he still puts up consistently good numbers each year. Smith and Heinicke were unable to provide McLaurin with the deep ball which is something Wentz will be able to. If McLaurin suddenly starts putting up ridiculous numbers because all of a sudden he can use his 4.3 speed to go deep that 71 million will be a bargain.

Pretty good deal. Less years is most important, as you never know who will flop after getting the money.

The Cowboys know all about that with Ezekiel Elliott, as soon as he got he's big contract he suddenly stopped trying.

The Elliott deal will go down as one of the worst ever. Just goes to shows that you never pay a RB after rookie deal, at least no where near that type of money.

Are any of the rookie quarterbacks making any noise in training camp?

I wonder how long it will be before the Steeler rookie quarterback starts?

There will be no talk about any of the Rookie QBs since this was a very underwhelming class. Only thing I have heard is Kenny Pickett being the fourth best selling jersey so far among all players, which is interesting.

Steelers have a huge fanbase and Pickett definitely appeals to the average Steelers fan. If he's an even average QB he's going to be beloved.

It was the reason the Steelers couldn't pass Pickett over, he was a popular hometown hero. Even if the guy turns out to be a bust they knew they would be selling lots of his rookie jersey. Same thing happened in Miami with Tua.

Thus year's quarterback class must be really poor as I've heard nothing of note either. Sam Howell can't even get in front of Hienecke at Washington.

Howell will be 3rd stinger. Only will get the bump if Heinecke is traded. That, or Rivera comes to his senses and realizes that Howell has far more potential.

Baker Mayfield has been trades to the Carolina Panthers force a co additional third or fourth round pick. The Browns basically gave him away to get his wages off the books.

Looks like Darnold and Mayfield will be competing for the starting job while Corral is groomed.

That's probably the best possible return for Mayfield at this point. Good for Carolina, I'm sure he'll be starting.

I agree, looks like Darnold will be shown the door at Carolina. Crazy to think Mayfield and Darnold were the top rated quarterback prospects back in 2018.

Yeah, Mayfield will definitely be the guy despite the low price the Panthers had to pay for him. Matt Rhule wanted him immediately after news broke that he was on the market, but the GM and Owner refused to pay a high price for him when they knew they could get him for cents on the dollar.

Darnold makes sense to Tampa imo, at least more than Jimmy G. Trask and Gabbert are not the answer after Brady.

I really don't think Darnold is, either.

I would roll with Darnold any day of the week before Trask and Gabbert. Brady will win them way too many games; he will take them out of contention of drafting one of top qbs next year. I think Darnold will provide best backup plan at this point.

There is logic to what you say Warrior13 but if you went to a Bucs forum and told the fans there that after Brady they would have Darnold starting you would get lynched.

There's no way they'd go from Brady to any of those guys, they'll just draft someone whether he's a top prospect or not.
