Looks like it is now official, the Raiders are moving to Las Vegas. Even though the Raiders have been approved to move to Las Vegas, the club will still play the 2017 and 2018 NFL seasons at the Oakland?Alameda County Coliseum and be known as the Oakland Raiders.

It makes no sense. The only move that did was the Los Angeles Rams being recreated. Why move from a fan base that supports you to a fan base that supports a range of teams?

Wont be long now until we have New York Jets, New York Giants, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders, Las Vegas Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, Miami Buccaneers, and Pittsburgh Steelers, and Pittsburgh Vikings. Oh, and then the London Jaguars, and the joke of an Australian team. Soon the NFL will cease to exist and I'll have to support a new code.

I know I'm going on a bit of a tangent but I seriously dislike what the NFL and NFL teams do. I mean it's 100 times better than the 6-team Premier League with no salary cap but it's still awful. In Australia the AFL and NRL (2 most prominent sports) haven't had teams move or merge for at least 15 years. There's always another option then to move your team. In 2007 the North Melbourne Kangaroos were almost going to move to the Gold Coast, but chose to stay and 7 years later featured in 2 consecutive preliminary finals (equivalent of conference championship game). And, now that city has a 6-year old new team and the players had serious drug and partying problems, proving that North made the right decision. Now what they and several other teams do is play about 3 games at a 'second home' to make fans in other areas happy. Why couldn't St. Louis, San Diego, and Oakland all just play maybe one home game (against an awful team so that they still hopefully win) in a different city, like what Oakland are repeating with Mexico?

I personally feel the Raiders have sold their fan base down the river moving to Las Vegas. The only fans the Las Vegas Raiders will be getting there are curious tourists. It's a bit sad really, the Raiders have some of the most passionate fans in the world, you look at old footage ot them during the 70's and 80's you'll know what I mean. It was like Darth Vader and the evil empire had come to town with them all arriving at the game wearing silver and black.

Adrian Peterson has just signed with New Orleans for 2 years, worth $7 million.

Adrian Petersons best years are behind him, if the Vikings have got rid of him they are trying to cash in before the rest of the league realises he is just a shadow of his former self. Bottom line is you can only come back from so many injuries before they take a toll on your body. All the great runners faded away as soon as they left the club that made them famous and joined another one at the end of their career. The only exception is John Riggins who joined the Redskins from the Jets and at age 34 not only rushed for 1,347 yards in 1983, but led the league with 24 rushing touchdowns.

Probably, but why not take a gamble. I'm not sure what the compensation was but I assume they didn't lose a first or second round draft pick, so he's essentially a free player. If he can't make it he won't. If he finds a way to recapture form look out NFC, cause there may be another contender for a wildcard.

I wonder how the year off will affect Marshaun Lynch on the field? His career seems to be mirroring John Riggins who also changed clubs towards the end of his career and took a season off because of a contract dispute. When Riggins returned after his year off he was a wrecking ball, said having the time off was what he needed to refresh his body. What Riggins did in the 1982 post season is amazing for a 33 year old running back, 610 yards on 136 carries, not to mention Super Bowl MVP. If Marshuan Lynch can emulate that then you have to say Oakland have a great shot at next years Super Bowl.

They are the only team in the AFC that can contend for a Superbowl birth by beating New England. Luckily they play in the regular season; that game should be a cracker.

However, what has been proven is if Derek Carr gets injured Oakland are a 5-11 team. Oakland were 0-2 in games without Carr and were outscored 20-94 while he was out (0-25, 0-18, 6-24, 14-17).

I hear what you say about Carr. I feel the same about the Raiders, with Carr they are a contender, without him they are average at best. Perhaps the Raiders will be looking to trade for a veteran Quarterback during this years draft to ensure what happened last year when Carr got injured doesn't happen again in 2017. It was a good move by them to get Marshaun Lynch, that should make opponents linebackers and safeties deciding whethher to blitz think twice knowing the Raiders have a back that is more than capable of taking it to the house if they miss their assignment.

Redskins got Johnathan Allen DT Alabama with their #17 pick. Allen was considered a Top 5 talent, but slipped a little due to arthritic shoulders. Incredible value for the Skins though, especially without having to trade at all.

Three teams traded up to draft QBs last night, all overdrafted in the Top 12. (Chicago-Tribusky, Chiefs-Mahomes, Texans-Watson). Bears were idiotic and gave up two third round picks and one fourth round pick to move up one slot, which they didn't need to. Chiefs and Texans both gave up two first round picks to just over ten slots each.

Dolphins drafted Charles Harris DE Missouri at #22. He will obviously be the heir apparent to Cameron Wake, hopefully being a great pass rushing specialist for the next decade for us. Hopefully.

Browns and 49ers had the best drafts last night. Browns didn't get their QB again, but added the likes of DE Myles Garrett, S/CB/KR Jabril Peppers, and TE David Njako. They were great picks, especially since they didn't overreach for a QB (since next years draft is loaded). 49ers, as mentioned, robbed the Bears and still got their player, DE/DT Solomon Thomas, at #3. They also used that fourth round pick from Chicago to jump back in the end of the first tound to get LB Ruben Foster out of Alabama. Foster was a Top 10 talent that slid due to some injury concerns, but dude could be the next Ray Lewis with his talent level.

I'm well happy the Redskins got Jonathon Allen, I didn't see that coming. I thought he would have been long gone by pick 17. I've been watching highlight reel of his college games and the guy is a beast. I don't think my luck is goin to hold out though, I'm hoping the Redskins get Dalvin Cook or Joe Mixon in the second round, we desperately need a running back now Matt Jones is up as trade bait.

Any idea why Miami passed on Reuben Foster? I was watching highlight reels of his college games and I have a feeling he is going to be something special. He reminds me of Ronnie Lott the way he flies into tackles.

San Francisco have Chicago to thank for that pick, I can't work out what they were thinking giving up those picks to draft Tribusky who wasn't going anywhere anyway.

Cleveland are on the right track. They have 3 players for the future in along with a quarterback in the second round. They also get a first round pick in next year's draft I believe.

Surely the 49ers must've had some interest in Trubisky and scared Chicago. There's no other reason they would've given up picks to move ahead.

Washington did get a good player, but I read that possibly in about 5+ years his shoulders may get bad. Nevertheless he will be good for those 5 years at a minimum.

Looks like good drafting by Miami, however I wouldn't mind seeing an o-line player being drafted to eventually replace our always injured o-line. It's slowly being built up, but another player can't hurt. We'll see what happens in the third round. After all, Jarvis Landry was a late second-rounder and Jay Ajayi was a fifth-rounder.

You don't need good picks to find good players.

The 49ers had zero interest in Tribusky. But they did a good job at convincing the Bears others were, and that those supposed other teams were willing to trade all thr way up to #2. (Yeah right...) Best smokescreen of the draft by far.
