If I was the Jets, I would trade with the Eagles in an instant and keep Darnold. #12, 2022 Miami 1st, 2022 Philadelphia 1st and 2022 Indianapolis 1st (presuming Wentz leads the Colts to the playoffs, as expected) is way worth it. Jets would have five 1sts next year if things turn out that way!
Ending trades results...
Dolphins Receive:
#6 Pick 2021
#156 Pick 2021
49ers 2022 1st
49ers 2022 3rd
49ers 2023 1st
49ers Receive:
#3 Pick 2021
Eagles Receive:
#12 Pick 2021
#123 Pick 2021
Dolphins 2022 1st
Basically a three team trade. Second trade was a little costly for Miami, but apparently they want the guarantee of Chase/Smith/Waddle, Sewell or Pitts giving Tua additional help. Wish they had given up the 2023 San Fran Pick, but I guess it all works out. There is no guarantee the 49ers will be great with a rookie QB at the helm and in that division with Wilson, Murray, and Stafford. That division is going to be nuts. Miami pick next year could be worse than San Fran if the Phins make the Playoffs and the Niners do not.
I would say watch out for Miami though as they might not be done just yet. What if Lance or Fields is still available at #6? What if Falcons go Sewell and the Bengals go Pitts/Slater? Miami could easily trade with the Panthers and fall back to #8, gaining another 1st next year (and likely a 2nd or 3rd this year) and still get Chase, Smith or Waddle. And what about #18? I do not think it will happen, but what if Jones is still on the board and a team wants to jump the Redskins? Could be real exciting depending on what happens.
49ers pretty much going with Lance. If the Eagles knew Wilson would not be there at #3, so do the Niners. Why make a move now without seeing Fields Pro Day if you are not sold on Lance?
Eagles obviously going with Hurts unless Mike just predicted the future. I guess there is a small chance Chase, Smith or Waddle will be there, but I would have to think the Giants nab them at #11 to prevent that.
