Cardinals sign CB Malcom Butler. They might be a Super Bowl dark horse if Murray puts up.

Jags sign Beathard to backup Lawrence, making it likely they trade Minshew. He has a relatively great contract, and teams are interested in him as their backup. I would guess they get a Day 3 pick for him.

Miami trades #3 to the 49ers for #12, 2021 3rd, 2022 1st and 2023 1st!

Nice trade for Miami, and guarantees SF will be taking one of those QBs. Not sure what they'll be doing with Jimmy G. Likely he'll start the year as the starter and then be traded near the deadline. I think Jimmy G is a QB who can take a good team deep into the playoffs, but he isn't going to elevate them at all. Very much like Goff.

Miami has now traded the #12 Pick, 2021 4th, and a 2022 1st to the Eagles for #6 and a 2021 5th. Miami clearly will be walking away with Chase/Smith/Waddle, Pitts or Sewell.

I think Jimmy G will be traded before the draft. You might as well get something for him while you still can.

I think that's a decent trade for Miami. Maybe a slight overpay to give up an additional mid-round 1st to move up 6 spots, but it guarantees them one of the guys they want.

Looking at it further, I think this trade may backfire for SF if they want to get Wilson. I think the Jets might take him. But maybe SF wants Fields. Kinda weird if they are set on Wilson though.

This all works out beautifully for Cincy as well, who are now basically guaranteed Sewell or one of the receivers / Pitts. Atlanta may take Sewell but I see them drafting a QB.

Another thing to consider is Philly packaging their picks and trading with the Jets for #2 and taking Wilson. A bad move, imo, with the holes on that roster, but their GM is QB-hungry. Odds are they'll stay at 12 and grab Parsons or one of the receivers. They've got a really bad record with drafting receivers though. I think Pitts is the treasure at that spot for them. The NFC east is picking at 10-11-12, with the Eagles at 12, so at least one fanbase is going to walk away salty somehow. I don't put it above the Cowboys to take Pitts at #10 if he's there just to screw with the Eagles much like Philly took Goedert just before the Cowboys were set to take him a couple years ago.

If I was the Jets, I would trade with the Eagles in an instant and keep Darnold. #12, 2022 Miami 1st, 2022 Philadelphia 1st and 2022 Indianapolis 1st (presuming Wentz leads the Colts to the playoffs, as expected) is way worth it. Jets would have five 1sts next year if things turn out that way!

Ending trades results...

Dolphins Receive:
#6 Pick 2021
#156 Pick 2021
49ers 2022 1st
49ers 2022 3rd
49ers 2023 1st

49ers Receive:
#3 Pick 2021

Eagles Receive:
#12 Pick 2021
#123 Pick 2021
Dolphins 2022 1st

Basically a three team trade. Second trade was a little costly for Miami, but apparently they want the guarantee of Chase/Smith/Waddle, Sewell or Pitts giving Tua additional help. Wish they had given up the 2023 San Fran Pick, but I guess it all works out. There is no guarantee the 49ers will be great with a rookie QB at the helm and in that division with Wilson, Murray, and Stafford. That division is going to be nuts. Miami pick next year could be worse than San Fran if the Phins make the Playoffs and the Niners do not.

I would say watch out for Miami though as they might not be done just yet. What if Lance or Fields is still available at #6? What if Falcons go Sewell and the Bengals go Pitts/Slater? Miami could easily trade with the Panthers and fall back to #8, gaining another 1st next year (and likely a 2nd or 3rd this year) and still get Chase, Smith or Waddle. And what about #18? I do not think it will happen, but what if Jones is still on the board and a team wants to jump the Redskins? Could be real exciting depending on what happens.

49ers pretty much going with Lance. If the Eagles knew Wilson would not be there at #3, so do the Niners. Why make a move now without seeing Fields Pro Day if you are not sold on Lance?

Eagles obviously going with Hurts unless Mike just predicted the future. I guess there is a small chance Chase, Smith or Waddle will be there, but I would have to think the Giants nab them at #11 to prevent that.

San Francisco are after Zack Wilson, they must think he?s their next Joe Montana. Miami won that trade getting those two number 1 picks and then overpay to get back to pick #5 in 2021. Now they have to wait two years before the cash in their 2023 first rounder but seeing as they didn?t want a quarterback it was overal a good move as they are still going to get the player they wanted. Nobody is 100% sure what the Jets are going to do, their #2 has suddenly gone up in value as it is now the only way of guaranteeing getting the quarterback you want out of Wilson and Fields. The Jets need to be smart and go with Darnold and stockpile first round draft picks, at least three of them and a player. It will be interesting to see what Denver do now as they are after a quarterback.

As for the masseuse sex pest, I think he get?s off on intimidating the girls and making them do things that makes them feel uncomfortable. He obviously has no interest in paying for sexual services as the guy has enough money to pay for whatever sexual fantasy he desires. With 19 girls coming forward it starting to look damning for him. You have to wonder about the timing of all of this though. The guy says he doesn?t want to play in Houston no more and all of a sudden his reputation is in tatters, it?s going to cost him millions in lost endorsements. You also have to wonder what sort of pressure women?s movements will put on the NFL to kick him out of the league.

Niners definitely want Wilson, but I think there is 5% chance he is still there. They obviously are fine with Lance after his Pro Day.

I hadn't considered Denver moving up to take a QB. They had a pretty nice free agency period and shored up their biggest hole at CB but they do still need a QB. I think them trading up to #2 is unlikely but I can see a trade for Jimmy G happening. SF will be trying to get rid of him.

In regards to the Jets trading with Philly, Wentz doesn't even need to get the Colts to the playoffs for that pick to convey, he just needs to play 75% of snaps, which is really likely.

Really exciting pre-draft so far. I'm glad some of these trades are happening now instead of just on draft night.

I agree. Lets get this show on the road. Obviously another big trade will not happen until draft, unless it includes Wilson or Watson somehow. Based on these trade though, looks like the draft will likely begin at #4 if the Jets go with Wilson as most expect.

Jets will trade down, getting another young quarterback is just a step across, more value trading down. Not many options to trade Darnold now. If they are going quarterback they would have got rid of him by now.

I can see it going either way. Darnold has been pretty bad and I think he'll only have a chance at being good if he goes to an already complete team. And the Jets are far from that. And if you take a top QB at #2 you at least have a hope that the new guy is really really good and can elevate the rest of the team. The draft is just such a crapshoot.

They will be drafting Wilson. Done deal at this point unless the Jags pull a Browns and draft Wilson instead of the presumed favorite in Lawrence. Wilson might just have a higher ceiling than Lawrence; he was throwing some wicked passes yesterday.

There are still plenty of places a QB like Jimmy G and Darnold could be traded to. Taking out those in the Top 12 of the draft, you still have the Patriots (who honestly might want Jimmy G back and could swap Newton and his lesser contract for him), Texans (who might never have Watson again and might not get anything for him), Steelers (who have no real backup), Redskins (who do not have a franchise guy), Bucs (who need a backup), Saints (who are not tied done to a QB past this year), and the Bears (who do no have a franchise guy).

I saw that one pass where Wilson threw it 50 yards on a dot running left with no time to set his feet. Scripted, sure, but a beautiful throw.

If the Steelers could somehow make getting Jimmy G work I'd be very happy even though he has trouble staying on the field and I think is too good to be a backup. I hear the Patriots are interested in him which makes almost too much sense.

I think the Pats are the likely landing spot for Jimmy G. Steelers should go after Darnold, could probably get him for a 3rd at this point.

Not a super important signing, but longtime backup QB Chase Daniel has signed a 1 year, 1.5M deal with the Chargers to backup Justin Herbert. If I could do it all over again, I would be Chase Daniel. This year will be his 12th in the league, and he's thrown 261 career passes, for 8 tds and 7 ints. For reference that number of attempts would put him at #34 on the pass attempt list for just 2020, with just over 1/3 of the attempts that Matt Ryan made in 2020 alone. Lol.

This contract will put him at 40M in career earnings. For the equivalent of maybe 8 games worth of average quarterback play. Gotta love it.

In other news, Sammy Watkins has signed a 1 year, 6m deal with the Ravens, who I think still need to upgrade at WR. I think free agent WRs are reluctant to go there because their offense is so run-heavy and they struggle with the passing game when the run game stalls. Nobody on the Ravens is going to sniff 100 receptions or 1000 yards.

Watkins is a nice player with some injury concerns and he's struggled to hit his potential. His stats aren't too impressive compounded with the fact that the Chiefs have had so many weapons. But if he can stay healthy he can be an average big body #2 for them.

Chase Daniel is living the dream. But what about Tannehill and Bradford? I think Tannehill, with as limited of abilities that he has, will make close to A QUARTER OF A BILLION DOLLARS by the time he hangs it up. Sam Bradford made 130 Million by being injured all the dang time.

Sure, but those guys actually had to play lol. Bradford especially benefitted from the obscene rookie deals they were giving out at the time before the scale. His rookie deal was 6 years, $78M lmao. I just read a breakdown of his contracts and he's made almost 7k per yard thrown.

At least by the end of his career Tannehill will have mostly earned it.
