Becton expected to fall. Might have to update again.

Maybe the Phins could get him at #18??? Dancing

I can't find anything on Becton's stocks falling. As the articles say, Becton never had any issues in college.

You're panicking because the media are adding random players to the 1st round. Ruiz has only recently appeared in mocks' 1st rounds. Don't let it cloud your judgement. 90% of mocks I've read this past week have been GARBAGE.

To summarise, this would be a typical mock done by a writer at the moment:
1 - Burrow
2 - Young
3 - Herbert (Miami)
4 - Tua (LA Chargers)
5 - Okudah (Detroit)
6 - Wirfs (NY Giants)
7 - Brown
8 - Simmons
9 - Henderson
10 - Wills
11 - Becton
12 - Lamb
13 - Jeudy
14 - Thomas
15 - Ruggs
16 - Kinlaw
17 - Chaisson
18 - Jones
19 - Terrell
20 - Diggs
21 - Jefferson
22 - Gross-Matos
23 - Love
24 - Queen
25 - Johnson
26 - Ruiz
27 - Jackson
28 - Murray
29 - Wilson
30 - Higgins
31 - Fulton
32 - Delpit

Not panicking. Reading extensively.

Becton is expected to slide now. Not just because of his flagged sample, but also because of growing concerns of his weight.

Can't see the Browns selecting him over Wills because of it, and Gase is a stickler about things as well. Buccaneers make the most sense to me if he does falls. Not going to go crazy like some people and have him falling to the Phins at #18 or into the 20s.

Ruiz is rising up draft boards, just like Henderson, Mims, and Josh Jones. It wouldn't surprise me if the Chiefs go with a Guard at #32. Andy Reid LOVES drafting linemen.

Rumors:

Chiefs want to trade up for Ruggs. You gotta be kidding me, right? XD

Mayock loves CeeDee Lamb. People are slotting him to Raiders now at #12.

Jaguars want one of the Top 2 CB. Henderson should be there at #9.

Falcons want Brown, but will be willing to jump for Henderson if Brown goes Top 7.

'Dennis: Just use your March Mock as your Final Mock. That one was awesome. ;)'

Thanks Warrior13, that's the one I should have used as the one for my edit, I think I picked up the Feb version by mistake. I just wanted to add Jedrick Wills who I forgot and shuffle a couple of other players about.

2) Washington - Chase Young - DE
3) Detroit - Isaiah Simmons- LB
4) N.Y. Giants - Tristin Wirfs - OT
5) Miami - Tua Tagovailoa - QB
6) L.A. Chargers - Justin Herbert - QB
7) Carolina - Derrick Brown - DT
8) Cardinals - Jerry Jeudy - WR

That's better Dennis. I'm still a bit unsure of some of your picks within the 24-30 range, but you've made some good adjustments. Epenesa dropping is good and the same with McKinney replacing Delpit. Your picks 1-14 are very good and sensible (minus the bold prediction of Okudah slipping).

Here is NFL.com's latest mock. As always, there are some shocking picks. It's far worse to make bad picks in the first half of the draft, and that's what this guy has done:
4 - Becton
5 - Simmons
6 - Tua
9 - Herbert
16 - Chaisson
18 - Love
20 - Johnson (CB)
27 - Wilson (OT)
30 - Aiyuk (WR)

Well, that's it guys. We've done it! 4 mocks each. I remember how hard it was doing my January mock compared to my April one. Dennis I have no doubt we will both improve if we do this competition next January. Warrior, as always your knowledge is better than at least 80% of 'experts'.

Remember, there is still a bit of time if any of you want to edit your mocks. Also, if a major trade/incident happens tomorrow on the 22nd, I will extend the deadline so that we can edit our mocks. But too bad if one happens on draft day.

For mine and Warrior's mocks, if anyone wants the write-ups they can go to the first post and it tells you where to go for the links. But below I am going to post everyone's mocks in text-form like Dennis's is:

January Mocks:

Sorry for the last minute changed, but I made one final edit since today is the deadline. Going Andrew Thomas #10 and Jederick Wills #11. Reliable sources say the Browns like Thomas if they can't trade out.

Change made ;)

I really can't be bothered making changes to mine, especially since I wrote write-ups + possible other selections. I'd have to change those again (I edited my April mock once, soon after publishing, and it was a PAIN going back Brick Wall ). Plus it's crapshoot from picks 18 and onwards so I may as well stay put.

BREAKING NEWS: NFL.com made a pretty good mock! Amazing how you can find some writers doing pure trash, while others are sensible.

Some last minute thoughts from me:

Draft bolters:
- Justin Herbert (QB)
- A.J. Terrell (CB)
- Patrick Queen (LB)
- Jaylon Johnson (CB) (has featured in EVERY mock I have read)
- Zack Baun (LB) (his stocks have risen AFTER testing positive for a drug test???????)
- Ezra Cleveland (OT) (has featured in EVERY mock I have read)
- Isaiah Wilson (OT)
- Brandon Aiyuk (WR)
- Cesar Ruiz (C) (well done Lonely God)

Draft sliders:
- Tua Tagovailoa (QB)
- Austin Jackson (OT)
- Grant Delpit (S) (barely features in the 1st round anymore)

Storylines:
- Jacksonville have put Leonard Fournette on the trade table
- Denver are rumoured to want to trade UP
- Jordan Love to New Orleans is a hot pick
- Talk of Atlanta trading up seems to have cooled off. Yet I don't believe it

Thanks. They say there might be less trades this year because of the virtual draft, but I could see a variety of teams wanting to trade up or down...

Teams Wanting/Likely To Trade Down:
Redskins (No one will pay them what they want)
Lions (Still will have choice of Okudah/Brown/Simmons)
Giants (Should still have pick among all OT)
Panthers (Have so many holes to fill)
Cardinals (If Simmons is gone and they are okay with their OT)
Browns (Rumored to want OT Cleveland - More of 2nd Round Prospect)
Jets (If their favorite OT isn't still on board)
49ers #13 & #31 (Want more draft capital)
Cowboys (Rumored to love Ruiz)
Patriots (Notorious for trading down)
Seahawks (Notorious for trading down)
Titans (Rumored to want to move down a few slots to get DE)

Team Wanting/Likely To Trade Up:
Dolphins #5 (Rumors dying down about trading up)
Chargers (Rumors dying down about trading up)
Panthers (Only if Burrow doesn't go #1)
Buccaneers (Really want an OT)
Broncos (To ensure getting one of the Top WR)
Falcons (Really want Brown/Henderson)
Dolphins #18 (If Wills falls to #10-#13)
Eagles (Love both Lamb & Ruggs)
Patriots (Only if Tua/Herbert falls to #13)
Chiefs (Only if Ruggs falls into the late teens)
Colts (Might be interested in Love)
Texans (If they wanna move up to grab a slipping star)

Patriots in discussion with the Buccaneers about a possible trade for Gronk. He has one year left on his contract, and is considering coming out of retirement.

Horrible news. The dynasty continues in another city, and New England get ANOTHER pick.

Now waiting the impending news that Tampa Bay are acquiring Trent Williams for a 4th round pick and Leonard Fournette for a 3rd rounder, so they can draft Kinlaw Whistle

- Veteran head coach
- Arguably the GOAT QB
- Best WR group in the league
- Young RB who is damaging at his best
- Possibly the best edge rusher in the NFL right now
- Veteran OT
- Top-16 pick to join the defense

If you are Tampa Bay, you are calling Washington and Jacksonville IMMEDIATELY and getting those players. Could you imagine that team? They would have a legitimate chance of going 16-0.

The biggest story in this years draft is where is Tua going. I didn't realise the Dolphins had Tua booked to be in Miami for a medical the day the Covid-19 lockdown started and he couldn't go. I wonder if that is why the experts are picking Herbert to go to Miami as the Dolphins didn't have a chance to assess Tua themselves.

Fournette being traded for a third round pick? I thought he would have been worth more than that. Same with Trent Williams, buccaneers have got a steal if that goes through.

I seem to be noticing a trend where NFL teams get rid of star players after their fourth year so they don't have to pay them a big contract and look to the draft for cheap labour for another four years. The only players that are getting paid the big bucks are elite players that cannot be replaced. For example Mahommes gets his contract yet Prescott doesn't, I would not be shocked if the Cowboys took Jordan Love if he is on the board when Dallas are on the clock. Dallas clearly don't think Prescott is the man to lead them to a Super Bowl and Jerry Jones is concerned about his mortality and wants to win things now.

Those trades were hypothetical. I don't know where Williams and Fournette will be traded to. But if Tampa Bay were smart, they would draft them. Washington's bargaining power is going down every day, and everyone knows Jacksonville are stripping their team bare in a similar way to Miami in 2019, in an effort to Lose For Lawrence. Fournette would usually go for a 2nd rounder, but that slips to a 3rd round pick due to the reasons above. Williams would usually go for a late 1st rounder, but that slips to a 4th round pick for the reasons above.

Yeah, when a 1st round pick finishes their 4th year, the team has the option to either cut/trade them, sign them onto a big contract, or undertake the 5th-year option. The issue with Dak Prescott is that he was a 4th round pick, therefore his initial contract wasn't that long and so Dallas had to make a decision earlier than other teams who drafted a QB in R1. That was also the issue Washington had with Cousins (also a 4th round pick). If we look into the crystal ball, it's pretty clear that Dak's time with Dallas is nearly over. Dallas have next to no salary cap space, and aren't willing to use it all up to pay a bang-average QB.

That's an interesting point about Dallas and Love. If Dallas draft him in the 1st round, he will be on a low-paying contract for 4 years minimum.

I am not looking forward to this draft now. I know in my mock I have Tua ahead of Herbert, but I am convinced that Miami are going to trade up to pick 3 and select Herbert. Something has happened behind the scenes that has EVERY mock writer spooked. Perhaps the story you found about Tua having failed 2 medicals was true. His stocks plummeted not long afterwards.

I do rate Herbert and wouldn't be unhappy if we drafted him, but missing out on a talent like Tua would be devastating. In the past Miami have made horrible decisions such as not drafting Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, & Lamar Jackson. Miami HAVE to take a risk on Tua. If he busts then at least we tried, but if he becomes a superstar and leads LA Chargers to a SB title, it will be devastating.

Moving up three rounds to trade a guy that was never going to play for you again is an absolute steal for the Pats.

I don't think the Bucs are going after Fournette or Williams. Sounds like the Browns might trade for Williams if the price is right, but I think they only do that if Simmons somehow falls to them at #10 and they choose to go that route over Thomas/Wills. The Bucs have already said they don't want Fournette, citing the deep RB Draft Class this year. However, if they can't get one for some reason, I'm sure they will pursue Fournette regardless of what they said.

I've always liked Tom Brady, I just hate the New England Patriots organisation. You can't not like a guy who takes a pay cut to allow the team to recruit better talent around him. In fact I'd say I'd like to see the Buccaneers along with the Redskins, Raiders, and Dolphins do well. Just so I can laugh at the New Engalnd organisation for treating Brady badly after he gave up so much for them at the peak of this career to win Super Bowls. It would be hilarious if he had added another two rings to his collection. If the Bucs get Gronk, a top rookie reciever and an offensive lineman they have a good shot at it.

Washington have officially given Williams and his team permission to seek a trade. It seems Washington's plan all along was to not allow Williams to leave until now - when his trade value will be highest. It's said that Washington want a 1st round pick, but that's not going to happen. If they could somehow manage to get a 2nd rounder, that would be a good result considering they have zero 2nd round picks.

Looking at the picks, Cleveland have pick 41 and Tampa Bay have pick 45, meaning Warrior is right in that Cleveland are the favourites to sign him. In the 3rd and 4th rounds Cleveland also have the higher pick.

In other news, Cincinatti have unofficially told Burrow that they will be selecting him with pick 1.

Rumor has it that a team has offered a "complete deal" (whatever the heck that means) to the Redskins for the #2 Overall Pick. It was no reported what team that was or what was included. It could be a smokescreen the Redskins are putting out in hopes of getting the Dolphins or Chargers (or another team) to give up the farm, especially since they didn't immediately accept this so called offer.

We'll see.
