Role Play: Crusade for Reality

"You'l never succeed," said Link.
"Watch me," said Chaos, placing one hand on the Sphere of the Past.

"And this is for escaping me!" Ragnarok said, blasing lnik with a weak ball of energy just before he and chaos vanished.

They emerged outsidee of a large mountain. "Is this the place?"

"Yes, this is it," said Chaos. "Death Mountain. Link should be here in about two minutes."

"Good," Ryu said flatly. "So we have two pieces. any idea where we have to look to get the final piece?"

(Jesus man, don't you ever sleep?))

"We don't have two pieces yet," said Chaos. "We won't have it until we've fished it out of the crater."
Chaos pointed down through a crack in the rock. A cavern filled with lava could be seen inside the mountain.
"You want to go and get it?" asked Chaos, grinning maliciously.

((just woke up like four hours ago. yes, by my time that is sleeping in the middle of the day but its true.))

Ryu stared at him. "Thought we went back to prevent him from throwing it in at all..."

Chaos shook his head.
"The Shadow Key is infused with dark magic," he said. "That gives it some protection against the forces of nature, but it's not invincible. I'd say we get about 30 seconds after it hits the lava before it melts. I can get it before that."

"And what happens when link..." Ryu started to ask, but paused. "Ah, so basically i keep him away from you?"

"No," said Chaos. "Basically you tell me when he gets here. As soon as you see him throw the Key, let me know. I'll be in and out in ten seconds flat."

Ryu looked around the area, waiting to see link. "So, your father, you said you never met him... what would you do if you could have?"

"I've been asking myself that question for years," said Chaos. "If I had met my father while he was still alive, I don't know what I would have done."

((yeah... why?))

"There he is!" Ryu said, pointing over across the crater to link as he tossed a strange object into death mountain.

"I'll be right back," said Chaos. He dropped down through the crack in the rocks, landing in the lava with a small splash.

"You got it," Ryu yelled after him.

((Gotcha))

A large flaming bat-like creature emerged from the lava, clutching the Shadow Key in its jaws. It circled around the top of the crater a few times, before landing next to Ryu. With a bright flash, it transformed into Chaos.
"Two down," he said, wiping lava from his armour. "One to go."

Ryu blinked a few times. "Well that was odd... but do you have a clue where we look from here?"

((Mine's okay where it is))

"None," said Chaos. "But there's someone who does. I can't ask him, but I can check all the places he's likely to have hidden it."

"Why cant you ask..." He paused. "Lemme guess, your father?"

"No," said Chaos. "My father was killed before the Shadow Key was created, so he wouldn't know anything about it."
